Barleti Medical Group Strengthens European Health Innovation Ties at EHDS Event in Brussels

Barleti University (www.umb.edu.al), the Barleti Institute of Research and Development (BIRD) (www.bird.al), and Barleti Medical Group (www.bmg.al) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the EIT Community Hub Albania (https://eit-ris.eu/albania/), marking a significant step forward in fostering innovation, education, and entrepreneurship in Albania’s health and research sectors.
This collaboration aims to strengthen the ties between academia, research, and business by connecting Barleti’s multidisciplinary ecosystem with the wider European innovation community supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). Through this partnership, the institutions will work together to:
- Promote joint research and innovation activities
- Co-create educational and entrepreneurial programs
- Facilitate access to EIT opportunities, including funding, training, and pan-European networks
- Support the development and commercialization of healthcare and digital health solutions
The MoU reinforces Barleti’s mission to be at the forefront of knowledge transfer, applied research, and regional development, while empowering the next generation of innovators in Albania and the Western Balkans.
This partnership opens new pathways for collaboration under the EIT’s strategic focus areas, especially health, digital transformation, and education — ensuring Barleti’s continued role as a national leader in innovation and a proactive contributor to Europe’s knowledge-based economy.
