Barleti Medical Group Celebrates Albania’s First Certified Living Lab
10/07/2026STAMINA Living Lab has officially joined the European Network of Living Labs (ENoLL), becoming the first Living Lab in Albania to be part of the international network.
The membership was formally recognized during Open Living Lab Days 2026 in Antwerp, Belgium, where Michele Biring-Pani, Director of STAMINA Living Lab, received STAMINA’s new-member certificate on behalf of the Living Lab.
Created by Barleti University and Barleti Medical Group, STAMINA brings together healthcare, research and innovation through co-creation and real-world experimentation. Its work focuses on healthy living, digital health and smart living, creating an environment where researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, students, innovators, businesses and other stakeholders can work together to develop and test solutions in real-life settings.
Joining ENoLL represents an important step in STAMINA’s development and connects the Living Lab with an international community committed to user-centred and open innovation. Membership creates new opportunities for international collaboration, knowledge exchange, European research and innovation initiatives, and partnerships with other Living Labs.
STAMINA participated throughout Open Living Lab Days 2026 in policy discussions, co-creation workshops, networking activities and exchanges with other Living Labs and innovation organisations. The event provided an opportunity both to experience Living Lab methodologies in practice and to develop new relationships for future collaboration.
The recognition is an important milestone for STAMINA and for its founding institutions, Barleti University and Barleti Medical Group, whose combined academic, research and healthcare capabilities provide the foundation for the Living Lab. It strengthens their shared commitment to connecting research with practice and involving end users directly in healthcare and innovation.
As Albania’s first Living Lab to join ENoLL, STAMINA now becomes part of a wider international community while continuing to develop its activities, partnerships and impact in Albania.
