Barleti Medical Group Participates in The New Food Paradigm at Station F, Paris
01/12/2025
Ever wondered why you feel tired all the time, struggle with digestion, or can’t figure out which diet really works for your body?
02/03/2026As part of the PEARL-Lab – Patient Engagement for Advancing Responsible Living Labs project, representatives from Barleti Medical Group (BMG) and the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya (UIC) participated in the Open and Responsible Research and Innovation (ORRI) training organised by the REINFORCING project in Brussels.
The training brought together all projects selected under the 4th REINFORCING Incubator Call and focused on translating ORRI principles into concrete institutional practices. Through interactive sessions and peer exchange, participants explored how to embed ethical governance, meaningful citizen and patient engagement, diversity and inclusion, and anticipatory thinking into real-world innovation processes.
For the PEARL-Lab project, the Brussels training represented a key milestone. The insights gained will directly inform the development of the PEARL-Guidebook, an open-access ORRI tool designed to support ethical and responsible patient involvement in digital health, med-tech, and AI-enabled innovation within living lab environments.
The training also provided an important opportunity to exchange experiences with other European organisations working on responsible innovation, strengthening collaboration within the REINFORCING community.
Barleti Medical Group’s Role in PEARL-Lab
Barleti Medical Group is the coordinator of the PEARL-Lab project and an ORRI newcomer organisation developing a health living lab across its university polyclinic and home-health services. BMG provides the real-world clinical environments where ORRI principles will be piloted, tested, and embedded into everyday practice.
Through PEARL-Lab, BMG is establishing institutional ORRI governance, ethical patient-engagement procedures, and staff capacity to ensure that innovation activities are patient-centred, inclusive, and responsible. The knowledge and tools developed through the project will be integrated into BMG’s long-term operations and shared openly to support other healthcare organisations across Europe.
